Detta kan vara den enda blogg som inte skrivit något om Mr Obama tidigare. Men nu kan jag inte låta bli. Via det fantstiska skivbolaget Matinées hemsida rapporteras om att Obama, precis som jag, är ett fan av den australienska poporkestern The Guild Leauge. Eller kanske så är det hans talskrivare som är det. Så här står det hur som helst på Matinée-sajten:

Apparently President Obama is getting speech inspiration from The Guild League these days. In his speech to a joint session of Congress this week, Obama used the phrase "the quiet burden of their absence" which caused The Huffington Post to report:

"In the most oddball contribution of the speech, this line originates from the Australian pop band The Guild League on their album, Inner North: "The shirtless sky, the burning bricks. The quiet burden of your absence." I'll put down money that this song is on the Ipod of Obama's twenty-seven year old speechwriter, Jon Favreau."

Hoppas detta kan bidra till att Mr President gör sitt jobb lite bättre. Och inte bara håller nationalistiska tal och beter sig allmänt opportunt. Att dra in sitt stöd till högerfascistoida Israel skulle kunna vara en bra början.
